What happens to the numbers you enter
Nothing. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser with plain JavaScript. The values you type — investment amounts, earnings, body measurements, images you preview — are never transmitted to us or anyone else, never stored, and disappear when you close the page. The thumbnail checker reads image files locally with your browser's FileReader; no image data leaves your device.
What we collect
Nothing personal. This site has no analytics, no accounts, no cookies, and nothing that submits what you type. It stores two preferences on your device, and nothing else: if you pick a country in the header, that choice is saved as a single value so the site does not ask again, and if you pick a colour theme, that choice is saved the same way. Neither is ever sent to us. Pick “Everywhere” and “Auto”, or clear this site’s data, to remove them. Country detection uses only your browser’s timezone and language settings, on your device.
The one thing you can choose to send us
Some calculators offer a tickbox: “Compare me anonymously.” It is off unless you tick it, and here is exactly what happens if you do.
Your browser works out a wide band from what you entered — a province and an income range at least $10,000 wide, with everything above $200,000 collapsed into one band — and adds 1 to a shared public tally for that band. That is the whole message. The figure you typed is never sent. Neither is a name, an email, an account, a session, a device identifier, a cookie, or a timestamp. There is no row anywhere that describes you, because nothing about you is written down: the database is nothing but counters, and a counter cannot be traced back to a person.
This is enforced by the database itself, not just promised here. The security rules permit exactly one operation from a browser — add one to a single tally — and forbid reading, changing, or deleting anything else. You can read those rules; they are in the public repository linked from About · Methodology · Sources · Glossary · Embed.
What you get back is a rough sense of where your number sits among other people who also chose to compare. We only show it once a band has at least 30 responses, and we never claim it is representative: these are self-selected visitors, not a sample of the country. The combined tallies are published as open data under CC BY 4.0, so anyone can check what we hold. It is a small enough thing that we would rather you tick the box because you want to help than because you did not notice it.
Untick it and nothing is sent. There is nothing to delete afterwards, because there is nothing stored that is yours.
Third parties
- Google Fonts — the two typefaces load from Google's font servers (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). Google may log those font requests; no calculator data is included in them.
- Firebase Hosting (Google) — serves the site's files, with the standard server logs above.
- Cloudflare Email Routing — only if you email hello@countworthy.com: it forwards your message to our mailbox (see Contact below). The website itself never sends anything.
That is the complete list.
There is no display advertising and no ad network on this site, and as of 25 September 2026 there are no affiliate links either. If a tool page ever carries one, it will sit below the Related tools section under a heading that reads “Ad · Affiliate links”, next to the sentence: “Affiliate links: Countworthy earns a commission if you open an account or buy through them. They never change a number, a default or a verdict, and nothing runs on this page — the partner's site has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies.” Clicking such a link would take you to the partner’s site, which has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies; nothing runs on this page and we do not learn who clicked. The programmes live on the site will be listed here from the day the first one appears; today that list is empty. If display advertising were ever added, this policy would be updated first with the networks used, the consent controls, and what they collect.
External links
Tool pages link to sources (official help pages, studies, data providers). Those sites have their own privacy policies; this one stops at our door. Affiliate links are labelled as such, with the sentence beside them.
Contact
Questions about this policy: hello@countworthy.com. Mail to that address is forwarded to our mailbox by Cloudflare Email Routing, which handles your message and address in transit. That applies only if you choose to email us — the website itself sends nothing.
Last updated: 25 September 2026 — a colour-theme choice is now kept on your device beside the country choice (see What we collect). Previously 25 September 2026 — an affiliate-disclosure section added (see Third parties) ahead of any affiliate link; none is live yet. Previously 1 September 2026 — contact address changed to hello@countworthy.com (forwarded via Cloudflare). The site launched 29 August 2026 with 14 tools, no analytics and no ads. This page describes the system as built and changes when the system does.
